Refunds & Returns Policy

This policy applies to all equipment procured and sold by AUSSYS (Pty) Ltd via this website. By purchasing from us, you acknowledge that you are either a Juristic Person (business) with an annual turnover/asset value exceeding R2 million (to whom the CPA does not apply) or a Protected Consumer (individual or small business) under the Consumer Protection Act (CPA).

Important: Installation affects warranty coverage. Defects caused by incorrect installation, misuse, or unauthorized alterations are not covered. If AUSSYS performs the installation, applicable guarantees will be honored subject to the CPA.

1. 7-Day "Cooling-Off" Period (ECT Act)

  • In accordance with the Electronic Communications and Transactions Act, you are entitled to cancel your purchase within 7 days of delivery for any reason.
  • Condition: The equipment must be returned in its original packaging, unused, and in the same condition as received.
  • Handling Fee: A 15% handling and restocking fee applies to all "change of mind" returns.
  • Shipping: The cost of returning the goods under this 7-day period is for the purchaser’s account.

2. Defective Goods & Implied Warranty (CPA)

  • If the equipment is found to be defective, the following statutory protections apply to all Protected Consumers:
  • Six-Month Warranty: Under Section 56 of the CPA, you have a right to return defective goods within 6 months of delivery.
  • Remedies: If the equipment is proven to be defective at the time of delivery, you may choose to have it repaired, replaced, or receive a full refund.
  • No Handling Fee: No handling fees or penalties will be charged for returns of legitimately defective goods.
  • Exclusions: This warranty does not apply if the defect was caused by:
    • Improper installation or use contrary to instructions.
    • Physical damage, neglect, or unauthorized alterations after delivery.

3. Second-Hand Equipment Disclosure

  • All equipment is sold as second-hand/used.
  • We disclose all known defects and the specific condition of each item on its respective product page. By completing the purchase, you agree to receive the goods in the condition disclosed at the time of sale.

4. Return Process

  • We reserve the right to inspect returned equipment to verify the cause of any reported defect before processing a refund or replacement.
  • Refunds will be processed to the original payment method within 15 business days of a successful inspection.
