The AUSSYS Charter on Machinery Safety
Preamble
We, the founders of AUSSYS, recognizing the vast and evolving landscape of industrial automation, do hereby establish this charter to affirm our purpose and commitment: to safeguard human life and ensure the integrity of machinery in an automated world.
Article I — The Automation Landscape
The Automation Industry shall be acknowledged as a dynamic and complex ecosystem, comprising:
- Original Equipment Manufacturers (OEMs)
- Global technology leaders, including Allen-Bradley, Siemens, Schneider Electric, ABB, and Festo
- Systems Integrators, ERP solution providers, MES developers, and cybersecurity experts
These entities collectively advance innovation, efficiency, and productivity across industries. Yet, amid this progress, the safety of machinery remains underemphasized and requires urgent attention.
Article II — Identification of the Gap
Through rigorous market research, AUSSYS has discerned a critical deficiency: a lack of dedicated focus on machinery safety.
Many organizations encounter challenges in implementing safety systems that:
- Comply with the Occupational Health and Safety Act No. 85 of 1993
- Comply with International safety standards and machine directives
- Protect personnel and assets
- Preserve operational efficiency
This deficiency constitutes not merely a business opportunity but a solemn responsibility — to ensure that automation enhances safety rather than compromises it.
Article III — The Imperative of Safety
Unsafe machinery shall be recognized as a source of:
- Serious injuries or fatalities
- Production downtime
- Financial losses
- Reputational harm
Safety is hereby declared a legal, ethical, and operational imperative. Integration of safety into every stage of automation shall be deemed essential for sustainable success.
Article IV — Our Mission
AUSSYS shall endeavor to bridge the gap in machinery safety by delivering solutions that prioritize protection without sacrificing performance.
Safety shall be:
- Integrated into design and operation
- Aligned with the OHS Act, and global standards, including ISO 13849 and IEC 62061
- Scalable and practical, ensuring compliance while supporting productivity
Article V — Our Commitment
AUSSYS pledges to provide the following :
- Functional Safety Consulting — Assess risks and design compliant systems
- Safety System Integration — Implement solutions that safeguard people and processes
- Continuous Innovation — Leverage advanced technologies to enhance safety
By these commitments, AUSSYS shall empower businesses to protect their workforce, minimize risks, and unlock the full potential of automation — safely.
